94 days until Christmas....

Can you believe it? It is barely Halloween and Costco already has Christmas decor out! Crazy.

Anyway, I will follow suit and share one of the cards I made for a Christmas Card swap at Convention. It is a shaker card using gumball green, cherry cobbler and vanilla cardstock. Inside the shaker frame is dazzling diamonds, the prettiest snow you will ever find. ;)

Wanna join a stamp club?

Please join me in a great monthly girls night out, full of fun, crafting, eating and laughing! I am gearing up for another great stamp club year and would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to join us. All you have to do is show up to each meeting and commit to making a $20 order (before shipping and taxes) every month for the next 10 months.

We get started at 7:00 every night at my place (1992 Loudoun Road) and wrap up by 9:00, sometimes 10:00 if there is a lot of chatting (and eating and laughing) going on. ;)

Why join a stamp club?

* This is a great way to build up your supplies gradually. Soon you will have a great collection of stamping products.

* Everyone gets their turn to be the "hostess". This means you collect HOSTESS BENEFITS! You'll get at least $35 in free product on your hostess month. (You could get a lot more!)

* Stamp Club members also receive $5 off every class offered.

* Meet an awesome community of women who share a love of crafting, love Stampin' Up and love to have fun.

* You get to make some AMAZING projects! Every month I will demo a few projects using different techniques and Stampin' Up product and you get to make one of your own to take home!

Check out the projects (cards, gift card holders, boxes, ornaments) we made during the 2011-2012 stamp club year.

Fun, hey?

If you are interested in joining a Monday evening or Tuesday evening club or have any questions, please contact me at madewithlovebycher@hotmail.com

Thanks and I CAN'T WAIT to hear from you.

Thanks Team Canada!

As another summer Olympics comes to a close, I wanted extend a huge thanks to Team Canada for a wonderful Olympics. The medals were great but it was the losses, namely the DQ of the 4x100m Canadian track team which also provided an excellent learning opportunity for my kids: Jared Connaughton showed strength in character by owning up to his mistake, apologizing for it and not placing blame on anybody but himself...as a mom trying to raise kids with integrity, this was far more valuable than a bronze medal.

Below is a card I made for general swapping at Convention. I found this on Pinterest by Sarah Wills and LOVED its simplicity.

164

...that is the number of these beauties that I made. CRAZY, you ask? Yes I am and it was. But once I saw them here I *knew* they would be perfect for the WOW swap at Convention. Some extra helping hands were involved in the construction of these cards: Ludivine, dimensional-applier extraordinaire and Andy, dimensional expert, professional swap labeller and packager. I can't forget Sue who saved me HOURS of work by advising me to make the stars using a scoring tool dipped in white acrylic paint. Thanks guys for all of your help...it was GREATLY appreciated.

My front room was invaded by 328 aliens:

In case you would like to duplicate these (hehe), here are the following supplies:
Paper: pacific point CS/DSP, real red CS/DSP, lucky limeade, so saffron, basic black
Stamps: make a monster
Ink: basic black, lucky limeade
Punches: 1/16”, ¼”, ½”, 1¼” circle punches, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, word window
Accessories: sponges, googlie eyes, pennies, scoring tool, white acrylic paint

And the winner is.....

Cheryl Hirst for being the WORST BLOGGER EVER!! I know, I know and I am sorry, especially to the 5 people who continue to check to see if I have updated the blog...you are extremely loyal and I greatly appreciate it! :)

You may know that I lost my job at the National Microbiology Lab, the unfortunate result of drastic reduction in funding in the research lab I worked in. This seems to be the trend seen in many research labs so for now I will focus on my Stampin' Up business and maybe, just maybe you will see me more "frequently" in my tiny, little section of cyberspace. Perhaps I can increase my average of ONE blog post a year to...oh...let's not get too carried away now...to 1 blog post a week??? I know, crazy, eh?

So as an apology for my lengthy absence, I have for you not one, but TWO projects.
They are both gift card holders and use the Sweet Shop DSP, Mouthwatering stamp set and my FAVORITE new Occasions Mini item: scented embossing powder...sooooooo yummy!I used Vanilla-scented EP on the Wisteria Wonder cone and Melon-scented EP (which smells just like Watermelon Jolly Ranchers!) on the Pool Party cone.

Enjoy the weekend!
